Declarations of affiliation

According to the Local Government Act, certain municipal elected officials and office holders must publicly declare their interests. The purpose of the regulation on declarations of interests is to promote openness and transparency in municipal decision-making. The obligation to declare only applies to the interests of the elected official or office holder concerned, and therefore does not apply to the memberships or holdings of close persons. The elected officials who are required to declare are:

• Members and deputy members of the municipal board
• Chairman and Vice-Chairmen of the Municipal Council
• Board Chairmen and Vice Chairmen
• Members and deputy members of the body (technical committee) performing the tasks referred to in the Construction Act

Officials subject to reporting obligations

• Municipal Manager
• Committee rapporteurs

The Audit Board monitors compliance with the reporting obligation and reports the reports to the council. The register of affiliations is published on the public information network, unless otherwise provided for by the provisions on confidentiality.
