Our roots
Pomarkku's roots date back to the 1500th century. Over time, the predominantly agricultural municipality has grown into a home to many companies. The location of over a hundred industrial and service companies is thanks to the hardworking people and the municipality's advantageous location.
The village around Pomarkku Church, with its old buildings, is one of the best-preserved old rural settlements in Finland.
In Pomarkku, the village of two churches, history and nature meet in harmony. The old wooden church, which dates back to 1802, breathes stories in its murals and tells the wisdom of time from its special pulpit. Next to it stands a solid stone church built in 1921. Beautiful churches, a historic village street, the roaring rapids of the Pomarkku River and a unique stone bridge create the unique atmosphere of the Pomarkku church village.
