Beginning the journey of learning
Kivisilta Daycare Center is a new daycare center building completed in 2023. Kivisilta Daycare Center offers full-time early childhood education and preschool education, as well as shift care if necessary due to the caregivers' work or studies.
The daycare center is located next to the elementary school, at Lammintie 2, Pomarkku.
The Kivisilta kindergarten facilities and the surrounding area offer diverse learning opportunities for all children. We use the school gym and the Pomarkku multi-purpose hall within walking distance, which offer many opportunities for inspiring exercise. Our yard is diverse and there are forests in the surrounding area, which we utilize in our activities.
The goal of preschool education is to support the child's growth, development and learning, and to promote their well-being. Each child is given their own preschool curriculum in collaboration with their guardians. Our focus is on emotional skills, developing play, and developing multidisciplinary cooperation with parents.
The preschool hours are daily from 8.30:12.30 a.m. to 3:XNUMX p.m., after which the child has the opportunity to stay for supplementary early childhood education, which takes place in the child’s own group. Preschoolers have the option of a taxi ride if the distance from home to preschool is more than XNUMX km / each way. A taxi ride can be applied for with a school transport application.
The municipality of Pomarkku organizes high-quality early childhood education and preschool education in collaboration with parents – taking into account the individual needs of the family and the child.

Student welfare refers to the promotion and maintenance of good learning, mental and physical health and social well-being of students. Student welfare work is guided by the primacy of the child's best interests and the promotion of well-being. Achieving these goals requires both community and individual student welfare. Community student welfare supports the entire community, while individual student welfare includes school and student health care services as well as curator and psychologist services. In addition, a multidisciplinary team of experts is assembled on a case-by-case basis to support the student. School health care is intended for comprehensive school students and their families. It is a statutory and free preventive primary health care service. School health care includes annual health checks, of which the health checks for grades 1, 5 and 8 are extensive and parents are invited to participate in the check-up.
School health care (preschool-9th grade)

Excursion to the bog
The Eskari students went on a trip to the Isoneva bog on September 12, 2025.
DAYCARE HOME AUTUMN TRIP
The daycare center made an autumn trip to Reposaari Fort Park on October 3, 2025. The trip was for all children over the age of 3. For children under the age of 3, a program was organized in the vicinity of the daycare center.
As a result of the amendment to the Basic Education Act prepared by the Ministry of Education and Culture, learning support has been reformed in pre-primary and basic education. The aim of the reform is to support children and students at an early stage and strengthen inclusive practices. The legislative amendments will mainly enter into force on 1 August 2025. (oph.fi)
In practice, this means that the support provided in preschool education is group-specific support and student-specific support. If a preschool student participates in supplementary early childhood education, he or she falls within the three-tier support used in early childhood education outside of preschool, where the levels of support are general support, enhanced support and special support.
Group-specific support
Group-specific support is the primary form of support to which all students are entitled. Group-specific support refers to forms of support for all students that are specifically targeted at the needs of the current teaching group. Forms of group-specific support are flexibly planned as part of the group's activities. The effectiveness of support measures is assessed throughout the operating period and, if necessary, adjusted to better meet the group's support needs. The purpose of group-specific support is that each student receives the support they need at an early stage, in their own preschool group.
Student-specific support
Individual support supplements group support when it is not sufficient to meet the student's support needs. Individual support is based on the student's individual needs and requires an administrative decision to be implemented.
At Kivisilla Daycare, the special early childhood education teacher is responsible for organizing support in accordance with inclusive principles. Cooperation between the child's guardians, preschool group employees and the special early childhood education teacher is of paramount importance in organizing support for learning and participation in preschool education.
