How did we end up in the countryside?
We are Wenla and Hilda, and our whole family lives in the country here in Pomarkku. We travel a lot and it's nice to visit big cities, but the best thing about the country is that you can move freely and go anywhere on your own.
We go to primary school at Pomarkku Kirkonkylä School. Wenla is in 2nd grade and Hilda is in 5th grade. It's fun at school here, and we have lots of friends. It's also nice that everything is close by!
The most wonderful thing about the countryside:
- Cycling is the best – you can ride freely here without traffic jams.
- Lots of friends – and there's always someone to do something with.
- Everything is close by – school, hobbies and playgrounds.
The most terrible in the countryside:
- In the summer, insects are a nuisance – wasps and other buzzing creatures.
- It's dark in winter - sometimes you need a headlamp outside.

The country can easily accommodate more people! It's always nice to have new friends at school and in the village. It's safe here and there's room to be and move around.
In Pomarkku, you don't have to think about what to do in your free time – swimming in Isollajärvi or Pikku-Valkjärvi is the best in the summer, and sledding on your own home hill in the winter. Plus, the clubs and hobbies are great.
