Roads in the planning area
Private entrepreneurs are responsible for winter maintenance and plowing of roads (planned roads) managed by the municipality of Pomarkku.
Management period October 1, 2025-September 30, 2027 and possible option years 2027-2029 (October 1, 2027-September 30, 2029) north side of the river Traveller Trailers Oy and south side of the river Jarno Liukonen / Woodworks J. Liukonen.
The technical office handles the paving, dust control and sanding of the road layouts.
Light rail
The Southwest Finland Vitality Centre is responsible for managing the pedestrian traffic routes in the Pomarkku urban area. In contrast, the municipality is responsible for managing the Pitkäkuja pedestrian traffic route.
State roads
The Southwestern Finland Vitality Center is responsible for maintaining Vanhatie, Asematie, Riuttantie, Harjantie, Kivijärventie and Kiilholmantie in the Pomarkku urban area.
Private roads
In Pomarkku, decisions on the provision of assistance for private roads are made annually. The assistance applies to private roads that are important for permanent settlement or significant through traffic. Only field or farm roads, forest roads, forest motor roads and roads leading to holiday homes are not provided with assistance.
The municipality grants a subsidy for the maintenance of private roads according to the budget allocations. The subsidy is granted according to a separately confirmed annual kilometre rate. The length of the private road to be subsidised must be at least 500 m and the road must be an access road to a permanent settlement or an otherwise important road in terms of traffic. The municipality pays for maintenance services (gravelling, ploughing, slushing and road maintenance-related material and equipment purchases, etc.) as a subsidy up to the subsidy amount, the subsidy amount includes VAT of 25,5%.
Private roads can also receive assistance from the Finnish Centre for Lifelong Learning, on whose website you can find more information about the assistance and application forms.

New roads applying for maintenance assistance must submit an application to the technical committee. The application period is announced in an announcement on the municipality's website.
Maintenance grants for private roads that have received grants in previous years will be granted without a separate application procedure. The grant amounts are based on the criteria for determining grants in previous years, which have remained almost unchanged.
The road authority must report on the form all changes that affect the payment of the grant, e.g. permanent settlements in the area affected by the road and the road authority's responsible persons.

To receive grants, you must:
- a road authority has been established on the road
- Up-to-date information regarding the road authority and private roads has been provided by the road authority using electronic forms:

The road receiving the subsidy must either be an access road to a permanent settlement or a functioning facility, or it must have significant through traffic.
The length of the assisted road must be at least 500 meters. The road must also have a road authority responsible for its maintenance. The road must also be in use all year round, with the exception of a small break during the winter break on the assisted road.
If a municipality assists the road authority or road partners jointly in road maintenance, the road must be accessible to everyone.
Background and legislation
You can apply for a grant from the municipality for the construction, renovation and maintenance of a private road. The municipality can decide to take full or partial responsibility for the maintenance of a private road. Grants can also be obtained from state funds.
If the state or municipality assists the road authority or road partners jointly in maintaining the road, the road must be available to everyone.

The municipality has a traffic safety group that meets twice a year. The group promotes practical measures and cooperation between different sectors and stakeholders. The group covers a wide range of topics, such as traffic education, communication, supervision and development of the traffic environment.
In addition to the municipality's various administrative branches, the group also includes representatives from the Southwest Finland Police, the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, the Finnish Transport Safety Agency, and a representation from Linea Konsulttie.

The Road User Line (24 hours, tel. 0200 2100 (daytime) must be called in acute road traffic incidents that pose a danger to people, vehicles or road infrastructure on public roads. Such situations include, for example, floodwaters rising onto the road, dangerously slippery roads or road collapses.
